Optometry student James Devlin has been preparing to run 26 miles in aid of eye care charity Optometry Giving Sight.
The Glasgow Caledonian student said he has taken up the mantle 'no pain, no gain' in his training regime for the Edinburgh marathon on May 27.
'As a trainee optometrist I am aware of the importance of good vision and the impact it can have on our quality of life. In Third World countries it is also a major barrier for young people entering education. I am running for Optometry Giving Sight to help provide adequate eye care for those who either cannot afford it or do not have access to it,' he said.
