Optometry student Yvonne Markac (left) has finished top of her graduating optometry class at Glasgow Caledonian University.
She was also presented with Best Final Year Student in Ocular Therapeutics by Professor Daphne McCulloch (right), on the day of her graduation ceremony on June 29. Eye care firm Alcon sponsored the prize, saying it would continue to support learning and education in ocular therapeutics.
There was a total of 64 students on the Glasgow course, with other Best Final Year awards going to Lisa Haldane, in General Optometric Practice, Rhona Mcnab, in Binocular Anomalies and Orthoptics and Speciality Clinics, Michaela Learmont, in Speciality Clinics BV Theoretical, Lisa Haldane, in Ocular Disease, and Ashley Kernohan for best project dissertation.
