Organisers of the Silmo trade show in Paris have credited new branding and concepts, along with good weather, for a 5 per cent increase in visitor numbers at this year’s event.
The number of optical professionals that descended on Paris for the event was 34,250, an increase of 949 when compared with 2014’s event, which was blighted by Air France industrial action.
There was also an increase in the number of French opticians visiting the exhibition, making up 43 per cent of the total attendance.
Silmo’s 892 exhibitors resided in 33,300sq metres of hall space – a 5.3 per cent increase on last year's event.
