GOC appoints new CET approvers chairs

Kathy Morrison has been appointed as the General Optical Council’s (GOC) new chair of CET approvers among other new replacements.

Morrison, an optometrist and current join programme director of optometry in NHS Education for Scotland will be overseeing the GOC’s CET panel of approvers. She will be joined by Andrew J Elder Smith, a university clinical tutor and contact lens specialist optometrist and Catherine Porter, a senior lecturer in optometry at the University of Manchester as co-deputy chairs.

At the end of the year, Morrison will be replacing Gordon Carson who has been in the role since joining the chair in 2004.
