GOC discusses findings at latest Council meeting

 

 

A General Optical Council meeting on September 27 discussed findings from workforce and public surveys, proposals for stakeholder engagement in developing the 2025-30 corporate strategy and the regulator’s annual reports.

Research findings from the Public Perceptions and Registrant Workforce surveys will inform the GOC’s Standards Review and a consultation will take place in early 2024.

Council discussed plans for stakeholder engagement activities to inform the development of its next corporate strategy, which will be considered in March, 2024.

A proposal to consult on removing information about a registrant’s gender from the public register was approved, which would bring the GOC in line with other healthcare regulators.
