GOC seeks to engage with stakeholders

Increased public participation and interaction with the General Optical Council is planned for the coming months as the GOC embarks on major projects to gather feedback from and educate the public.

Two new 12-strong stakeholder reference groups are being recruited to make suggestions on GOC projects and policies. One will be made up of members of the public and a second will be drawn from the profession, ophthalmologists and industry groups.

GOC registrar Dian Taylor said this was an exciting initiative for the GOC and it wanted to recruit people with a passion for healthcare who were willing to share their experiences.
