GOC suspends Bradford optometrist

Bradford-based optometrist Carla Mahon has been suspended from the GOC register for three months after failing to declare drink driving offences. 

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found the registrant’s fitness to practise to be impaired on the grounds of public interest and dishonesty, as Mahon didn’t declare her offences despite annual opportunities to do so between 2007 to 2017. 

Mahon has until 22 August 2023 to appeal against her suspension.
