Search engine giant Google has released limited numbers of the first version of its augmented reality spectacle frame product.
Google Glass was first announced by the firm last year (News 13.04.12) and has been publicly tested by celebrities including Google co-founder Sergey Brin (pictured).
Videos and social media show how the Glass Explorer can record and take pictures hands-free, store directions, send messages and be fitted with a sunglass lens.
A competition ran last week for some shoppers to pre-order the product for £1,500 plus tax, if they could pick up in person from New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles.
