GOS signatures return

Patient signatures were reintroduced on all GOS forms on September 1 after the requirement was suspended because of Covid-19.

The Department of Health and Social Care informed the Optometric Fees Negotiating Committee of the update, which also applied to dentists and pharmacies.

An extension of the deadline was sought by the OFNC in relation to domiciliary patients but the organisation admitted it was unlikely.

The OFNC also reminded practices that the College of Optometrists amber phase guidance still applied with infection prevention and control measures continuing to be required in line with government, College and ABDO guidance.
