Glasgow-based Mackie Opticians has become the latest Scottish independent to join the Hakim Group after Urquhart Opticians’ eight practices joined in June.
Husband and wife team Dr Scott and Dr Roisin Mackie founded the opticians in 1995 with practices in Bothwell and Lesmahagow.
‘Both Roisin and I have been in the optics world for 35 years. Throughout all the changes we have seen in the market it has been the Hakim Group that has positively impacted the independent sector the most and in a relatively short period of time,’ Scott said.
Luke Wren, head of business development at Hakim Group commented that Mackie Opticians’ commitment to providing a bespoke, personalised service to patients was noticed by the company.
