Optometrist Deacon Harle, director of professional services at the Institute of Optometry, is running the Flora London Marathon next month on behalf of the Duchenne Family Support Group, which supports families of children diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
'Despite being a 16 stone 'tub of lard' I have agreed to support a good friend of mine through Tonbridge Round Table and run the Flora London Marathon this year with him. This has meant doing many things that do not come naturally, such as buying a pair of trainers and exercising.'
