Silhouette has appointed Mark Hobson as its new UK managing director, heading its 33-person team which is responsible for the selling and marketing of Silhouette, Adidas eyewear and Daniel Swarovski crystal eyewear in the UK.
Hobson joins Silhouette from his former position as general manager of De Rigo UK and also brings experience from his time working for Bausch & Lomb and Luxottica. He said: 'Right now, our main focus is on optimising the distribution channels. Other priorities include making the brands more visible at the point of sale and strengthening their profile.'
Markus Wall, responsible for international sales at Silhouette's Austrian headquarters, said of the appointment: 'We will be introducing new initiatives in 2009. That's why it's so important that we implement these dependably and effectively in our markets now.'
