The upmarket Onono Horn Glasses designed by ic! Berlin, will be presented at Silmo exhibition in Paris.
The frames are made from ancient buffalo-horn and non-rusting stainless steel with a ruthenium, gold or black chrome mantle.
There are 12 designs, six with buffalo horn front pieces and six with stainless steel fronts. There are three different horn colour variations, giving a collection of 36 frames in all, featuring the ic! berlin hinge.
The company added that the length and form of the temples could be individually fitted, as could the nose width. The collection will be delivered in a custom-made wooden showcase.
The company estimates that some 257 Onono horn glasses will be distributed this year and this number should rise to over 1,000 in 2007. Sunglasses will be added in 2006. The name is derived from a synthesis of yes and no and is taken from north-east India.
