Lens manufacturer Hoya has planned to resume production at one of its Thai factories affected by the country's severe flooding.
Hoya's Pathumthani Thailand facility is scheduled to re-open on November 21. It had never been flooded but was shut last month in the interests of staff safety. The company's other Thai plant, in Ayutthaya, was badly flooded and is likely to remain closed until early next year.
The administration office of the Hi-Tech Industrial Estate in Ayutthaya has started to pump water out of the estate, where water levels in Hoya's factory has now have fallen to 30cm compared to 80cm at the height of the disaster.
