Hoya thanks practices for Thai flood support

Hoya has said it received numerous letters of support from independent customers following last autumn's floods in Thailand and high levels of loyalty to the brand while supplies of stricken product lines were re-established.

Production of Hoya lens products has been gradually getting back to normal since devastating floods hit the country last October. Flooding closed four massive facilities responsible for much of Hoya's worldwide production of some types of lenses. Hoya moved quickly to establish alternative production for these lens types.

The worst affected plants in Ayutthaya re-opened last month and consequently are now making products that were previously unavailable.
