Hoya will use Optrafair to unveil a novel rimless glazing system which offers distortion free optics and an unobstructed view through the lens for the wearer.

Hoya DF will have exclusive use in the UK of the Avantek mounting concept. The system works by edging the lens with a boss on material at the mounting points to which the side and bridge are mounted.

The resulting rimless frame has no mounting on the front, or back, of the lens offering a clear view for the wearer. Hoya has dubbed the package Distortion Free Optics because the lenses does not have to be drilled. This does away with the stresses created by that process. As the mount is rimless no stresses and strains are created at the lens is pushed and held in the frame.
