This week sees the staging of two major contact lens events in the UK – the IACLE congress and BCLA conference.

IACLE members from 30 different countries first head to the University of Manchester for the May 24-28 event, which was also being broadcast live to those unable to attend, including educator and researcher Dr Eef van der Worp (pictured).

The BCLA Clinical Conference and Exhibition starts the following day (May 29-31), at ACC Liverpool.

Dr Inma Perez, head of professional affairs at BCLA exhibitor Alcon, said: ‘Comfort through technology will dominate Alcon’s programme and stand this year. We have thirteen Alcon supported scientific posters and presentations providing delegates with scientific findings on the technologies that make Alcon a leader in Vision Care, from improved permeability and wettability technologies in contact lens and lens care, to consistent surface performance of our monthly disposables.’
