Ian Humphreys has been appointed deputy chief executive of the College of Optometrists

Ian Humphreys has been appointed deputy chief executive of the College of Optometrists.

Humphreys, who has held the role of director of membership services and communications at the College for six years, was credited for developing new member services. These included CET lectures, peer discussions and a range of patient information materials.

He said: ‘I am delighted to be appointed to this new role at this time in the College’s development.  There are many areas of our work, including our research and educational provision, which are developing fast and we must ensure they meet the needs of our members, their employers, and the various policy makers.
