ic! berlin founder Ralph Anderl took patriotism to new heights recently when he travelled to Brazil in an attempt to supply the German national squad with personalised sunglasses.
Anderl, pictured with general team manager Oliver Bierhoff, travelled to the team’s base, Campo Bahia in Santo Andre, and used his Brazilian girlfriend to get the sunglasses to coach Joachim Löw and midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger – who he said were both aware of the company and pleased with their gifts.
Away from football, Anderl also took time to hire a restaurant and invited local children to make their own ic! berlin frames using DIY kits. ‘For days after I saw several kids around town proudly wearing their one-of-a-kind, self-made ic! berlin glasses,’ said Anderl.
