Explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes benefited from bespoke eyewear and a full eye health examination from Vision Express Chester ahead of his Coldest Journey expedition across Antarctica.
Sir Ranulph, pictured with store manager Nicola Gatehouse, was fitted with metal frames with bespoke covers to prevent them from sticking to the skin in temperatures as low as -90°C.
On his new eyewear, Sir Ranulph said: 'I'm extremely grateful for the really excellent bespoke Vision Express spectacles, which are exactly what I need for the difficult circumstances ahead.' Sir Ranulph had to pull out of the expedition earlier this week due to frostbite.
