iDay to launch mobile app

An app has been developed for next month’s Independents Day event in Birmingham.

The resource has been co-sponsored by Essilor and Transitions and will be available as a free download from June 23, with the conference itself taking place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on July 6 and 7.

It will include the conference programme, speaker details and abstracts, and allow delegates to participate in interactive voting during the day.

Nick Atkins, from organiser Proven Track Record, said: ‘This is an exciting development that really brings iDay into the 21st century. There are some really cool features such as business card swapping, forwarding speaker questions, chat function and social media integration.
