International Glaucoma Association’s (IGA) 2019 campaign for Glaucoma Awareness Week (June 17-23) has focused on how patients can manage their eye drops on holiday.
The IGA has provided more than 1,000 hospital eye clinics and optometric practices with awareness posters and answers to frequently asked questions about glaucoma patients using eye drops while travelling during the summer.
Chief executive of the IGA Karen Osborn said: ‘A lot of the calls to our helpline are about how to manage taking glaucoma eye drops while on holiday, so… for Glaucoma Awareness Week 2019 we decided to share some useful advice on this, with eye clinics and community optometric practices.’
