VALENT~2.jpgOriginal comic strip drawings of motorcycling superstar Valentino Rossi are featured in the new point of sale advertising campaign for Imatra RC sunglasses.

Created by Italian comic strip artist Milo Manara, the two sketches capture the star's 'easy-going personality and irresistible charm'.

Manara was inspired by the book Quarantasei, the number 46 emblazoned on the bike ridden by 'The Doctor', which tells the story of the imaginary adventures of Valentino Rossi and his bike.

In one of two sketches, Rossi is smiling behind his 021 acetate sunglasses featuring the Imatra logo on the temples. The image of an attractive female is reflected in the lenses, said Safilo. In the other drawing Rossi holds sunglass model 027 in metal and acetate.

Safilo said that Rossi wears Imatra RC sunglasses every time he steps 'triumphantly on to the winner's podium. The collection has 'unmistakable style and winning character', added the company.
