In Focus: iDay unlocks dry eye potential in practice

Having an ‘ocular hygienist,’ a dedicated dry eye website and a telephone script were just three of the numerous tips for creating a successful dry eye service shared at this year’s Independents Day (iDay), which attracted staff from 90 independent practices to the Birmingham event on July 8.

Getting the annual gathering for independents off to a powerful start, optometrist and researcher Dr Trusit Dave shared a moving video showing a patient break down in tears while explaining the impact that dry eye had on her life, quashing any misgivings among delegates about potential patient demand.
