Alisdair Luxmoore, commercial director, will leave the company at the end of this month 'to pursue other interests'. Mr Luxmoore joined D&A from motor company Vauxhall in 1996 as marketing director and was promoted to commercial director in 1998. While working for the optical group he was responsible for introducing many new product ranges as well as rebranding site designs and establishing the high-profile Burt Reynolds TV advertising campaign. 'I have had four fabulous years at D&A and enjoyed working with a great team and a great brand. I now consider the timing right to move on and explore new areas and a number of exciting opportunities have presented themselves.' D&A chief executive Russell Hardy said: 'Alisdair has had a substantial impact on one of retail's oldest brands. We will miss him and wish him the very best in the future.'
