An optometrist has raised £2,343 after successfully completing the Zurich Ironman race.
Reporting on his experience at the July event, David Good said the 35-degree heat removed the need for wetsuits on the 2.4-mile swim, while he was fortunate to avoid one of the many sun-induced tyre bursts on the 112-mile cycle leg. The 26.2-mile run consisted of four laps around Zurich city.
‘There was wonderful support from the people of Zurich, which was much needed and appreciated,’ said Good. ‘Zurich is a beautiful place to race in an Ironman and the weather was perfect.’ To donate visit his Just Giving page.
