Hazel Smith Opticians has dedicated August to fundraising for charities and engaging the local community in commemoration of their 40th anniversary, the Island Echo reported.
The Shanklin-based independent announced plans to host a day with Ability Dogs 4 Young People, whereby a different dog will be in-store every hour, and the charity will be available to talk about the work they do with the partially sighted and blind community.
It also intended to work with the local charity Sight for Wight and hold an open day with activities aimed at educating children about opticians, glasses and eye care.
