Jai Kudo is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its frame collection at the Optrafair show, having launched the eyewear line at Optrafair 2001.
The then lens company said that extending into frames had been a natural progression, with the aim of bridging the gap between budget and branded product.
Jai Kudo managing director Jamie Holoran said: 'We had identified a demand in the market for quality eyewear reflecting the latest fashion trends but without the inflated designer price tag.'
He added that from launch Jai Kudo Eyewear gained momentum and expanded into Europe and then the US, twice winning 'Best Product' at Vision Expo East in New York. It then went on to launch the diffusion line JK London in 2008 for the younger age group, which was influenced by street style and high-end fashion and featured on Britain's Next Model.
Holoran described the latest collections as among the best the company had produced, capturing the look of the moment, while prducing styles that complemented the contours of the face. He added that there were plans for a new brand later in the year that would convey a mood of heritage and timelessness, a move that the whole company was excited about.
The anniversary is being promoted at Optrafair under the slogans 'Jai Kudo Eyewear is 10 Today' and '10 Today'. The company is also offering a £10 Amazon voucher with 15 pieces, a 10 per cent discount with 35 pieces and 10 free frames with a 50-piece order across Jai Kudo and JK London eyewear at the show (Stand FQ20).
