John Harwood Optometrists has celebrated 100 years of optical practice in Surrey by donating £1,000 to Frimley Park Hospital, which treats patients with progressive eye disease.

Founder John Harwood first rented rooms above a solicitor's office before moving the Guildford practice to its current High Street address in 1937. The founder died in 1944 but his surviving son is still involved in the business.
The independent partnership also has practices in Woking, Surrey and Fleet, Hampshire.
