A fourth John Lewis Opticians was opened in Kent on 12 February 12 as part of the department store chain’s tie-up with Luxottica Group.
Richard Peck, managing director of Luxottica Retail Northern Europe, told Optician at a launch event that the partnership aimed to reach 20 practices in the next two years.
The latest John Lewis Opticians opened at Bluewater Shopping Centre this morning, where a store colleague was on hand to cut the ribbon after a two month building process.
The practice included two consulting rooms, a pre-testing area and lab room, employing two optometrists, a store manager, assistant manager and up to six optical assistants – joining 1,200 members of staff at the Bluewater shop altogether.
