It acquired Bateman Opticians to save the opticians from closure

Independent Julian Davies Opticians has agreed a pre-pack administration deal to save Bateman Opticians from closure and maintain 19 jobs, according to the South Wales Argus.

Bateman Opticians’ four sites in Newport, Blackwood and Cardiff will remain open and join Julian Davies Opticians, which has sites in Usk, St Mellons, Llandaff, Newport and Whitchurch.

Chris Tannorella, director of Julian Davies Opticians, said: ‘We are delighted to have secured the future of these practices and the jobs of the hard-working staff who are much-loved and appreciated by their patients.’

Tannorella added that patients would not see any changes to the service would continue to see the same staff whenever they come in for an appointment.
