School pupil Alex Harrison got more than he bargained for when he spent a week on work experience at David Burghardt Vision Care, near Lincoln.

The 15-year old, who is a pupil at the nearby William Farr School, has long been interested in a career in optometry. While experiencing the world of work, Harrison entered a competition run by the Sight Care Group to promote the Jump range of frames to children and young adults.

'A while after my work placement finished I got an email from the practice manager, Michelle Colley, to say I'd won £25 of iPod music download vouchers,' he explained. 'I was really pleased to have won and it was definitely a good result.'
