Just the Pillet for Silmo awards

French designer Christophe Pillet has been appointed chairman of the jury of the prestigious Silmo d’Or awards 2019.

Pillet, whose CV included spells working alongside designers such as Phillippe Starck, is renowned for his work in product design and interior architecture. He also has eyewear design experience, having created collections for Lacoste and Vuarnet.

Silmo organisers said Pillet’s approach to design was sensitive and restrained, and always inclined to first consider the value of an object or place in terms of its use.
