Keeler has introduced an iPhone 4 adaptor for use on its portable slit lamp (PSL), which turns the instrument into a digital slit lamp with high resolution video capture.
The iPhone 4 is connected to one of the eyepieces on the PSL and in seconds the lamp can capture video and stills using the phone's native applications. Practitioners can use captured footage for diagnosis, teaching, patient communication and record keeping. Images can be quickly stored or uploaded for analysis.
The adaptor's release coincides with the release of the Apple iPhone 4S, which boasts a higher resolution camera and improved lens configuration.
