Komono: Impactful silhouettes

News Sunglasses Frames

Komono and former students of the Royal Academy of Antwerp, Victoria Lebrun, Igor Dieryck, Marcel Sommer and Jill Jiayue have produced a studio range, linked to their graduate collections.

Lebrun explores volume and flatness, showcasing graphic representations and the interplay between 2D and 3D. Impactful silhouettes, featuring colour blocking and oversized rectangular shapes, are reminiscent of the 70s.

The sunglasses, pictured, appear to be coming out of a bigger flat rectangle frame, ‘as though cut out of a magazine page and reassembled’.

Dieryck’s passion for tailoring and streetwear results in a bold collection, suitable for everyday life. Inspired by a champagne glass, the frames feature a reduced front thickness and incorporate colours from the Komono collection.
