A study in Australia has found women in the country are seeking help for presbyopia a year sooner than men.
The survey sponsored by Essilor found both sexes were noticing the condition at around the age of 44. It took men an average of 23 months to book an eye appointment, whereas Australian women were seeking professional help after around one year.
Essilor quizzed 1,000 adults aged 35-65 for the study, which supported the launch of a new lens in the country, the Varilux S Series. Essilor Australia CEO Tony Gray said: ‘We’ve always suspected that women are much more vigilant than men when it comes to maintaining good eyesight and now the statistics prove it.’
