Staff from the Torquay branch of Specsavers and their children braved the freezing January waters of the English Riviera last month as part of week-long activities to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Clad in fancy dress, 20 staff and four children congregated on the beach before running into the sea. The cold temperatures didn’t put some of the fund raisers off, as they decided to stay out in the sea for a swim, before returning to the beach for bacon sandwiches.
Store director, Simon Simmonds said: ‘We’re delighted to have raised £1,500 for Cancer Research, smashing through our target.
