Linda Ford, head of education and standards at the General Optical Council, has announced she is leaving the regulator.
Ford has been appointed as chief operating officer of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx).
Marcus Dye, currently standards manager at the GOC, will become acting head of education and standards when Ford departs optics in September.

She has also helped drive through a new set of standards of practice for optometrists, dispensing opticians and students – to be applied from April next year.
