Nick Loan joined Rodenstock UK as managing director this week.
The former managing director of Bausch & Lomb UK brings with him 24 years' experience of the optical industry from his career in the contact lens field.
Former Rodenstock managing director Chris Hunt, who is currently working with Rodenstock on a consultancy basis, will help Loan settle into his new job. 'It will be my role to introduce him to all the key people,' he said.
Hunt said he was delighted that Loan has secured the top job and hinted that one of his main roles would be to endorse Rodenstock's commitment to its key customers in the Rodenstock Club grouping.
'He's a people person,' said Hunt. 'This is great news, he will be good for Rodenstock.'
Loan was most recently with the Bedfordshire contact lens firm Ultravision where he completed a 12-month contract as managing director.
