The Local Optical Committee Support Unit (LOCSU) has reduced its levy by 20% from 0.5% to 0.4% for the next three years from April 1, in recognition of the financial pressures experienced by LOCs and local contractors
Janice Foster, LOCSU CEO, said: ‘LOCSU are acutely aware of the current volatile eco-political landscape and trust this reduction in the LOCSU levy helps to support LOCs, contractors and performers as they work to maximise primary care optometry opportunities across England.’
Foster added that the levy underpins the upcoming LOCSU 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, designed with ‘agility in mind’ and to ensure ‘we are all in a strong position to respond to the rapidly changing NHS systems’.
