
Zoe Richmond has been appointed permanently as clinical director at the Local Optical Committee Support Unit (Locsu) after holding the role on an interim basis.
She joined the body in 2011 and led on the development of the clinical service pathways framework to extend the range of eye conditions that could be managed in optical practices.
Commenting on her appointment, Richmond said: ‘As clinical director I intend to continue championing the role of LOCs and optometry, optometrists and their whole practice teams, to support transformational change for eye care, for the benefit of patients and the population’s eye health.’
