LOCSU briefing

Eye health

LOCSU has published a briefing on the organisations created through the Health and Social Care Act and the changes to eye care commissioning.

As of April 1 this year, 211 GP-led clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) were set up to replace 152 primary care trusts controlling spend on optical services (News 05.04.13).

LOCSU noted local optical committees would work with the new structures in designing and implementing new local services, or reviewing existing enhanced services. The briefing is available here.
