Lord Mayor enjoys traditional spectacle

Alderman Michael Bear, the Lord Mayor of London (left), is presented with a pair of Lindberg frames glazed with Essilor Physio 2 lenses by the Master of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, Michael Barton.

The spectacles were supplied by City of London optician Ivan Wainer. Tradition has it that the SMC presents the Mayor with spectacles or contact lenses during their first year of office. The presentation was made at Apothecaries' Hall in the City on June 21.

Centre in the photograph is The Lady Mayoress. A cheque was also presented to the Mayor's charity, Bear Necessity.
