Minutes after staff at Tromans Opticians in Malvern had closed the practice on July 31, a car smashed through the front of the premises, ramming the reception desk to the back of the building.
The driver of the automatic vehicle escaped serious injury and the practice was fortunately empty.
However, business owner dispensing optician Andrew Downie commented: 'If we'd been testing that day, it could have been horrific'.
Praising his staff who came in on their days off to help clear up, Downie said the practice was performing eye exams again within four days.
