A new version of Google Glass manufactured by Luxottica is in the pipeline, the company’s chief executive Massimo Vian has confirmed.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Vain, speaking at a Luxottica shareholders meeting, said the partnership with Google to produce the augmented reality device Glass was still going ahead and that the company was working on the next version of the device.
Earlier this year, Google halted sales of the first version of Google Glass and moved development back to a low key special projects division. This sparked speculation that the project would be shelved indefinitely.
However, it was reported that Vian recently met with the new Glass team in the US to discuss the launch of a new device and how it could overcome privacy and style issues.
