Maje eyewear uses 70s vintage styling influences in new range

For its debut eyewear collection in partnership with Mondottica, French fashion brand Maje eyewear has looked fondly to the evocative era of the 70s, with vintage styling influences and obvious attention to detail.

From the sunglass collection, MJ5000 (above) is a modern interpretation of an oversized cat’s eye, constructed from two-colour acetate, with the upper section featuring hand pressed multi-layered tortoiseshell-inspired patterns.

In keeping with the sunglass collection, the ophthalmic collection is built on the same feminine colour palette of soft pastel hues including ivory, gold and pink with a subtle shimmer.

Dropped temples give MJ1000 (below) retro sensibilities, while at the front of the frame, pleating, most commonly found on fabric, has been interpreted with textural detail.
