Practice management company Opticabase said that since its launch last November, 28 trial versions of its system have received 'brilliant' feedback.

Over 14 additional practices are now using the software with some importing their existing software into Opticabase, it said. Created as a low cost option for independent practices, Opticabase has three available versions: Opticabase Reminders Program, Opticabase Plus and Opticabase Extra.

Main features include NHS print-out forms and a flexible patient recall system with customisable dropdown box system. The software can be purchased for a one-off fee along with full set-up support and no on-going monthly costs.

Optometrist Martin Housden has been using Opticabase for three months and said: 'The program is straightforward and easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone needing practice management software.'
