Marchon3D has received a 'Notice of Allowance' from the US Patent and Trademark Office on one of the applications for its curved M3D 3D lenses, signifying that a patent will be issued shortly.
The company stated that the patent would also cover the method of manufacturing the lenses, which decode 3D content in cinemas, on television and computer screens.
David Johnson, president of Marchon3D division of Marchon, said: 'We are very pleased that the Patent Office has determined that all 12 of the claims in our patent application are directed to novel and patentable inventions. In addition, we have other pending applications in the US and other countries worldwide relating to different aspects of our M3D lenses which will further strengthen our patent portfolio.'
