US eyewear company Marchon has acquired Nordic frame company Scandinavian Eyewear, which supplies the Skaga line among its brands.
Marchon said the acquisition would allow it to penetrate the prominent share the company has in the Scandinavian market and broaden the distribution of proprietary and licensed brands worldwide.
Set up in 1948, Scandinavian Eyewear has a brand portfolio that also includes Oscar Jacobson, Pilgrim, Lexington, FACE Stockholm as well as collaborations with Swedish designers Oscar Magnuson and Efva Brogack.
Claudio Gottardi, Marchon president and CEO, said: 'The acquisition of Scandinavian Eyewear marks another proud moment in Marchon's continuous global expansion efforts and strategic plans for growth. The company has a rich heritage and a formidable history. The combination of high quality, craftsmanship and classic design perfectly aligns with Marchon's core values.'
