Marcolin Group reported a healthy growth in first half revenue, up 7.7 per cent on the same period of 2007 at constant exchange rates.

Net earnings were €7.5m compared to a loss of €2m during the same period in 2007, with consolidated revenue at €107.7m, an increase of €3.8m on 2007. Marcolin added that it had successfully consolidated its presence in the market, especially in the luxury segment. Sales of sunglasses and frames were €103.1m, up from €97.7m in 2007.

The company attributed the significant rise in profits to the positive effects of management action, with a boost in efficiency including its subsidiary Cébé which was the focus of a major reorganisation.
